Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for taking the time to send this to me.

Also, didn’t want to get into it earlier, because of time.. But whenever I get a chance I do read your blog.. I find it very interesting because I can sooo relate to it.. Besides it being inspiring, you should know and I’m sure you do, that you not the only one with parenting issues and its very very refreshing to know that I’m not either.. Lol.. I admire your creativity and the way you express yourself.. Not many people can be so open and live a life where they can truly be themselves.. Well done to you.. You know living with my in laws changed me completely, I started living a lie basically, trying to do things that was expected of me, blah blah blah.. After 9 years of marriage, I finally started putting myself first and decided I’m going to be the person that my husband fell in love with in the first place.. Reading a book by Anita Moorjani called Dying to be Me (which I think you’ll enjoy) and also reading some of your blogs, I realized that its not wrong to put myself first sometimes.. I’m not completely there yet, but onwards and upwards I go.. It’s amazing how people connect without even really meeting.. Thank you

I never thought of myself as “inspiring”. It’s most certainly nice to hear that my creative outlet has brought about positivity in another person’s life. Looking forward to spending some time with you soon.

Mad Hatters Tea Party

It’s been a relatively quiet week. I had Monday off work. I took Rameez to get some sticker books and puzzles and he delighted in the time alone with me. He consequently begged me everyday this week not to go to work or gym. LOL.

We received an invitation to a Mad Hatters Tea Party for one of Zaid’s colleagues birthday’s. We accepted the invitation and then I had to find an outfit. Google came to the rescue and I got my inspiration for my outfit from this picture.

I’m unfortunately very short and not a fan of heels so I knew I wouldn’t be able to pull off the short dress and thigh high socks especially when the boys are with us.

A Facebook plea for information on Tutu hire proved fruitful when my ex- neighbor Tazzie Bones said that I could gladly use hers. She dropped it off during the week and I was at first not inspired. I didn’t know how I was going to make it work for me. I even thought of not getting dressed up at all. I finished work early on Thursday and had some time to roam the shops for something to wear with the tutu. I was most pleased with my findings and I think my final ensemble was the ‘mommy’ version of the original pics that I wanted to draw inspiration from. 😉

20130914-202635.jpgThe venue, Buitengeluk http://www.buitengelukvenue.co.za/ is gorgeous. A perfect setting for afternoon tea. Most people were dressed to the theme and its so much fun as an adult to be whimsical and adopt another persona for a few hours. It’s a child friendly venue that has a restaurant and the kids enjoyed it too. Lots of free space and lush lawn for them to run around on. At the end of the party both boys were running around barefoot and wet from jumping in the water puddles.20130914-202641.jpg I don’t have any pictures of Anees to share because he found a friend and we hardly saw him during the party.

It was the birthday girls 40th. The party got Zaid and I thinking about how we would like to celebrate ours. We both agreed that we’d rather do an adults only vacation together than have a party. We’ve got some wild ideas for destinations! LOL! (Can you say early mid-life crisis! ;))

It was a FAB afternoon and I’ve realized I quite like dress up functions 😉 I think of the fun I had with the 80’s Spinathon ( read about it at https://whatsonyourblogginmind.wordpress.com/2013/07/03/spinathon-%E2%9C%94/ ) and again today.

So I’ve also been awarded The Liebster Award by Eszter over at http://kukolina.wordpress.com/ and I’m finding it quite daunting. I can’t think of ten things I’d like to ask of other bloggers. EEEEKKKK! I hope to sit down to it soon! Sorry Eszter 😉

Ciao for now
